Freedom Fiesta Schedule of Events

Friday-Sunday – “Celebrate Freedom” at Bassett Center Mall. Free admission to COSTCO and 10 percent discounts at most stores throughout the Bassett Center Mall over the Memorial Day Weekend. Show ID card at the cashier for discounts.

June 4-5, 11-12 – “Soldiers Night Out.” Reduced prices and admission charges to clubs and restaurants throughout the El Paso Downtown area. List of participating businesses (with map) available Sunday at Soldier Appreciation Picnic.

June 4 – “Wet & Wild” Free Admission for soldiers on active duty and half price for family members. 11 a.m. – closing. Present military ID at the entrance.

June 5 – “Make ‘Em Laugh” Family Comedy Night. Fort Bliss Soldiers Hall 7 p.m. Cindy Ward & Friends – a cross between a Branson, Mo. Troupe and the Carol Burnett Show. Share a night of laughter. Free admission for military and family members.

June 9-10 – “Western Playland.” 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. Free admission for active duty Soldiers and $8 for family members.

June 14-20 – “Shop till You Drop” at Cielo Vista Mall. Discounts at most stores throughout the Cielo Vista Mall. Pick up Shoppers Guide at the Simon Market Place, Lower Level (Information). See www.ausa.org/ chapweb/obc/index

June 14 – “Army Birthday Retreat Ceremony.” Fort Bliss Memorial Circle. 4 p.m. The Omar Bradley Chapter-AUSA will sponsor the Army’s 229th Birthday Cake Cutting as part of the traditional streamer ceremony. Freedom Fiesta sponsors and volunteers will be invited to a special reception immediately following the ceremony.

June 17-19 – “Viva El Paso” McKelligon Canyon. 8:30 p.m. Free admission for Soldiers on active duty and family members. See Fort Bliss ITR for tickets. Maximum of four tickets per military family.
