Warrant Oficer Career Center

Chief Warrant Officer Tom Green

History was made Nov. 5, 2004, at the Army’s only warrant officer producing school and Army Aviation Center.
Chief Warrant Officer Tom Green, a 140E air defense warrant officer, was the first air defender to take command of 1st Warrant Officer Company, Warrant Officer Career Center, Fort Rucker, Ala. He was selected from a pool of stellar senior warrant officers for command.

“Tom is the right man, at the right time for the job,” said Col. Rich Enderle, former commandant of the WOCC, when he promoted Green in a ceremony at the Fort Rucker Chapel of the Wings.

“The way we operate as an Army is changing, the way we operate as warrant officers and the way we train and mentor our students is transforming so we must have leadership that can adapt, adjust and overcome the many challenges that we will face in the future. Tom has these qualities and I know he will do a superb job,” said Col. Glenwood Norris, commandant of the WOCC, during his change of command speech.

Green has served in all capacities at the Career Center to include the Training, Advising and Counseling officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Company executive officer, and Training, Futures Branch liaison.

“I have trust and confidence in Tom’s abilities and know he will be a fine commander,” said Chief Warrant Officer Jimmy Arbuckle, one of three air defense warrant officers at the WOCC.

“I am proud and honored to have been chosen to command,” said Green.  “I never thought that I would be selected to command in a community dominated by Aviators. Over the last 20 years in the military I have lived by a famous quote: ‘It’s the choice of choosing a life of success, or a life of significance. One choice is about personal achievement; the other is about achievement in other people’. In other words, if you take care of people they will take care of you. I have been very lucky that Soldiers have always taken care of me, said Green.

Green resides with his wife Laurie, son Jared and daughter Morgan.
