Crimeline
The Fort Bliss Directorate of Emergency Services has implemented a telephone tip line for reporting criminal activity. This new tip line is called Crimeline and is intended as a means for individuals with information on criminal activity to provide that information to the authorities while remaining anonymous. Crimeline is monitored by Fort Bliss Military Police only. The number is 744-COPS (2677).

UTEP soccer Military Night
The University of Texas at El Paso women's soccer team is holding Military Night during their game against Tulsa, beginning 7 p.m. Friday at University Field. The game is free to all military ID cardholders, and children accompanied by their parents will get in free. Gates open one hour prior to kick off. Assistance program
The Army Community Service Center and MWR will be hosting its annual Thanksgiving Assistance Program. This program is intended to assist active-duty Soldiers and their families with Thanksgiving dinner. The vouchers will be redeemable at the Fort Bliss Commissary. Trinity Site
White Sands Missile Range will open the Trinity Site to the public for another free open house Saturday. Visitors can take a quarter-mile walk to ground zero, where a small obelisk marks the exact spot where the bomb was exploded in 1945. Historical photos are mounted on the fence surrounding the area. Visitors also can ride a missile range shuttle bus to the Schmidt/McDonald ranch house where the scientists assembled the plutonium core of the bomb. Unit funds
For personnel new to unit funds, all units receive the MWR allocation of $2.50 per Soldier for FY08. In order to receive these allocations, the following documents have to be turned in by Oct. 31: assumption of command orders (even if command has not changed), a numbered alpha roster with total number of Soldiers without SSN and DA Form 1687. Small game hunts
The deadline for youth-only hunts and special-draw pheasant hunts in New Mexico is Nov. 3. Application fee is $6. Fort Bliss Soldiers residing in Texas are considered non-residents for these hunts. A non-resident small game season license is $90; a non-resident 4-day small game license is $33. Most are 2-day hunts and occur on weekends. Big game hunts
There are special drawings for permits for hunting opportunities available on Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Hunting Areas. The hunting area closest to Fort Bliss is TPWD's Sierra Diablo Wildlife Management Area, located on the Hudspeth-Culberson county line. Deadlines for applications are until Nov. 1, depending on the hunt. Deer, javelina, bighorn sheep, elk, even hogs are available in West Texas. Permits are limited, and costs range from free to $125 for hunters drawn to participate. Dates for hunts vary by location. New Year's eve parties

Special Forces PT
Soldiers in the rank of staff sergeant and below are invited to participate in the Special Forces Physical Training Program. SFPT consists of runs, ruck-marches and upper-body conditioning. Military scholarship
Western Technical College is awarding $1,000 tuition scholarships to every active-duty, reserve or National Guard servicemember from every branch of service and their dependents who enroll at Western Technical College. The scholarship can only be used at Western Technical College and is non-transferable. Courses are offered in the career fields of fiber optics, telecommunications, computers, information technology, automotive, medium/heavy diesel technician, performance tuning, medical assisting, electronics, welding, biomedical equipment technician, massage therapy, refrigeration, hemodialysis, EKG, medical coding specialties and phlebotomy. The Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce and Workforce Commission have developed an online database for military spouses who are on orders to PCS to Fort Bliss and for spouses currently stationed here seeking employment. New shirts at ADA Gift Shop
New 1st Armored polo shirts are available at the Air Defense Artillery Association Gift Shop. Also available are FCS and Old Ironsides caps. Hunting, fishing licenses
The Fort Bliss Rod and Gun Club offers New Mexico hunting and fishing licenses for active-duty military personnel and Department of Defense civilians. Active-duty personnel may purchase a military K license that allows them to hunt and fish on Fort Bliss property in New Mexico that includes Dona Ana and McGregor ranges. Active-duty personnel or DOD civilians may purchase a regular hunting and fishing license for New Mexico as either a resident or nonresident. Marriage workshop
Military families can learn to reduce arguing and conflict in their marriage by using a positive problem solving technique called the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program.
