Bliss gets technology ahead of schedule

The Army Evaluation Task Force stationed at Fort Bliss has been testing and judging components of the Future Combat Systems. They recently received two more components several years ahead of schedule.

The Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle was originally scheduled for the main program in 2012, said Maj. Brian Byers, assistant program manager for Future Combat Systems Unmanned Ground Vehicles. 

“This is a mature technology,” Byers said. “That is why it is coming forward … we feel very excited; we are very ready to do this.”
