Bromberg assumes command

150th post commander ready for ‘challenges that lie ahead’

Maj. Gen. Howard B. Bromberg assumed command of Fort Bliss during a brief ceremony Thursday at the Fort Bliss Museum.

Bromberg, formerly the chief of staff of U.S. Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., took over as the 150th commander of the post following the Jan. 9 departure of Maj. Gen. Robert P. Lennox, who went on to serve as the Army assistant deputy chief of staff in Wash-ington, D.C.

Opening remarks were given by Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell, commander of the Combined Arms Center at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., who thanked Bromberg for providing continuity to the installation and being there during a dramatic transformation.
