Post 5K run
The 5-K Run Post Championships will be held April 11 at Replica Pool. Registration will begin at 5:30 a.m. and the gun will go off for the race at 6:30 a.m. All registration will take place at the race site on the day of the race. This will be a Commander Cup Competition; open to all Active Duty Soldiers who are assigned to Fort Bliss. Age group categories will include Male and Female; 34 and under, 35-39, 40 and over. Army Strong wrestling
The Fort Bliss Army Strong Freestyle and Greco Wrestling Team is looking for Fort Bliss active duty, military family members in high school and DoD civilians to be part of the installations team competing against other city teams. Post track championship
The 2008 Fort Bliss Post Track Championships will be held at Stout Field Track April 21-24. Events will begin daily at 6 p.m. and order of events can be found at www.blissmwr.com. Registration will take place at the event site 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the Track Meet. Registration for specific events will take place on the day of the event beginning, see event schedule within the MOI. Paintball championship
The Fort Bliss Paintball Championship will be held at Biggs Park Paintball Field April 26. Team registration will begin at 8 and end at 8:30 a.m. Tournament competition will begin at 9 a.m. and run to completion. The tournament format will consist of a single elimination with a consolation bracket, each team guaranteed two games minimum for the tournament. Games will be eight minutes in length with a “Capture the Flag” format. This will be a Commander Cup Competition, free of charge and open only to Active Duty Soldiers assigned to Fort Bliss. Teams consist of five members on the field from the same unit. Markers, air, paint, and protective equipment will be available free of charge. Personal markers may be used if semi automatic setting is available, no full auto markers are allowed if semi automatic setting is not available. Free tai chi and yoga
Army Community Service offers free tai chi and yoga classes every Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. at ACS, Bldg. 2494, Ricker Road. Child care will be paid for all who are registered with CDC. For more information, call 568-1132.
Water aerobics
The Replica Aquatic Center is offering water aerobics classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 to 9 a.m. Cost is $3 per lesson or $25 per month. For more information, call 568-7431.
Free aerobics
Aerobics and spinning classes are now free. There is no longer a fee to participate in any of the classes offered at Stout Gym. Classes start from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and include spinning, yoga, step, kick-boxing and more. For information, call 568-3826 or visit www.blissmwr.com.
Sports officials needed
The Fort Bliss Officials Association is looking for individuals interested in becoming officials for various sports. Training is provided and games will be played at Fort Bliss sports facilities Monday through Friday evenings.
