Battle of the minds

Soldiers, students compete for academic bragging rights

The Battle of the Minds competition kicked off Monday with nine Soldiers from Fort Bliss competing with eighth-grade students at Bassett Middle School.

The panel of Soldiers will compete throughout this week and next to help schools determine who will make up the final panel of students to compete against the final Fort Bliss team, complete with senior leaders from several units.

This is the third year Fort Bliss Soldiers have participated in an academic competition with middle school students. The competition, previously held only with Morehead Middle School, expanded this year to include eight area schools.
