Garrison changes command
Burns departs, welcomes Manning to Bliss community

Family, friends, comrades and distinguished guests filled the seats at Noel Field to bid farewell to and welcome the Garrison commanders during a ceremony Thursday, where Col. Robert T. Burns relinquished command to Col. Edward P. Manning.
“Today we have the privilege of welcoming Colonel Ed Manning as the Fort Bliss Garrison commander,” said J. Randall Robinson, Director, Installation Management Command - West Region. “Ed brings outstanding leadership and strategic capabilities to Fort Bliss. He is ideally suited to provide outstanding support to this great community.”
Manning said he was grateful and humbled to command the Garrison at Fort Bliss and that he would continue to maintain supporting the Soldiers, their families and their missions. He thanked Burns for making his transition seamless and for giving him the opportunity to see firsthand the great things Burns has done for Fort Bliss.
