Extended gym hours
In support of the additional troops in the Biggs area, Biggs Gym hours have been extended to 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on holidays and training holidays. For more information, call 568-8697 or 568-8730.
Post golf champsionship
Fort Bliss MWR-Sports will sponsor the 2008 Fort Bliss Intramural Golf Post Championship July 11 through 13 at Underwood Golf Complex. This will be a three-day event open to teams consisting of active-duty Soldiers assigned to Fort Bliss. Play will begin at 1 p.m. July 11 and continues at 8 a.m. July 12 and 13. Teams from a brigade or independent league member will consist of two teams of four members each. A minimum of five players are required to be eligible for the Commander’s Cup competition. Awards will be given to the top two teams and individual medalists. Rosters and entries are due Monday to Joe Fedak, intramural sports coordinator. For more information, call 568-5995.
Pay day bowling
The Fort Bliss Bowling Center would like to invite you to participate in Bliss’ pay day activity. Entry fee is $5. The event will be held at 3 p.m. July 18. A total of $1,000 in gift certificates will be given away as prizes. Pre-registration is encouraged. For more information, call 568-6272.
Border Rumble boxing
Fort Bliss MWR Sports is looking for active-duty military boxers, male or female, who would be interested in participating in the Border Rumble boxing smoker. This event will take place July 25 at Stout Gym. Interested individuals with five or fewer amateur fights will fight in the Intramural Division. The Intramural Division consists of three one-minute rounds. Individuals with more than five amateur fights who meet all Golden Gloves reqiurements will fight in the Golden Gloves Division. Army combatives
All Reserve and active-duty Fort Bliss Soldiers are invited to participate in the 2008 Modern Army Combatives Post Championship Aug. 29, with weigh-ins at 7 a.m. Aug. 28 at Stout PFC. Medals are awarded to first through fourth places and first- and second-place finishers will automatically be selected to represent Fort Bliss at the All Army Tournament held at Fort Benning, Ga. Wounded warrior discounts
MWR would like to remind individuals with a Wounded Warrior Card they are entitled to free games of bowling and free shoe rental at the Fort Bliss Bowling Center; free club rental, free cart rental and free green fees at Underwood Golf Complex; and free usage of park facilities and free equipment rental at park facilities

Blue pin special
The Fort Bliss Bowling Center will be offering a free game coupon for those patrons who throw a strike when the blue pin is in the head pin position. Tennis lessons

Free use of pools
Replica Aquatic Center hours are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Open swim is available daily from 1 p.m. until closing. At both pools, patrons, including active duty, family members, DA civilians and NAF employees, may swim and participate in water aerobics for free. Guests are $2 per person.

Rod and Gun Club
Patrons can enjoy a covered pavilion and 10 diverse ranges, including trap and skeet, five-stand sporting clays, pistol, rifle and black powder. Additionally, monthly tournaments are also held for all shooting disciplines.
