Leadership changes in FFID-AETF
New commanders pledge to continue units’ excellent progress

From July through August, five key leaders working with Future Combat Systems here have turned over their positions to new commanders and one manager. The good news is they are all staying at Fort Bliss to lead other units.

The first change of command took place July 1 when Lt. Col. Elmer Speights Jr. relinquished command of the 1st Combined Arms Battalion in the first formal change of command ceremony for the 5th Brigade, 1st Armored Division (Army Evaluation Task Force). Speights had been in charge of this evolving unit of approximately 100 Soldiers since Feb. 1, 2006.
